Meet Christyne.

Hi! I’m Christyne, and I’ve been getting my nails done at a salon since early highschool.

I never go without them! But during the peak of the pandemic, salons were closed and I was looking for something to do. I’ve always been a creative person, and I was also working as a makeup artist at the time (and still am currently), so I was already very familiar with the beauty industry. I’ve always felt that I could pick up the trade of nail care after watching mine be done many times, so I thought- why not? I ended up spending my spare time earning a nail technician certification, and was soon after running a makeshift salon for my friends and family out of my basement.

Cut to the year 2024, and I began working at a retirement home on weekdays in the recreation department. One of the programs we introduced was manicures for our residents in assisted living. The residents were very pleased with my work, and the program became very popular! One thing I noticed while doing people’s nails is that it wasn’t really about the manicure at all for them. It was about feeling like themselves. They smiled more, sat up straighter and became more talkative. Everybody enjoys feeling put together, and having someone to talk to. These residents would really struggle trying to get to a nail salon, and aren’t capable of taking care of their own nails. Yet this is something that used to be a part of their regular routine… I thought to myself— How many more people are feeling the same way as these guys? And thus, Nails By Chris was born. My goal is to make my services accessible for everyone, and help people feel like the best version of themselves!
